Warren Schools Launch Strategic Planning Project

Board of Education hoping to bring community together to discuss future of local education.

At Wednesday's Township Committee meeting, Warren Township Superintendent of Schools Tami Crader told the members about many of the initiatives and changes the schools have gone through in recent years.

"We have a lot on our plate, so it's time to pull all of that together," Dr. Crader said.

"Pulling all of that together" means soliciting input, guidance and ideas from everyone involved in the schools, from teachers and staff, to residents and local leaders, to develop a strategic plan for the schools' next five years.

Dr. Crader invited members of the committee to the first public session for the strategic plan, scheduled for 7 p.m. Nov. 1 at Warren Middle School. She also encouraged the committee's laison to the Board of Education, Mick Marion, to join a steering committee overseeing the project.

Planning formally begins next week, with a meeting Monday of all school staff to discuss elements for the plan, as well as an online survey for residents scheduled to be posted Oct. 9 on the district website.
