Warren Schools, Watchung Hills HS Closed for Wednesday

Websites already announce closures on Tuesday night, Warren Township municipal offices to open late.

With the National Weather Service predicting that snow would continue until the early morning hours on Wednesday and Warren Township police warning drivers should stay off township roads, school officials already announced on Tuesday night that both the Warren Township schools district and Watchung Hills Regional High School would be closed on Wednesday.

The regional high school, located in Warren, will be closed on Wednesday "due to inclement weather and poor road conditions, according to the high school website.

Watchung and Green Brook schools also are closed on Wednesday, their websites said on Tuesday night.

Earlier during Tuesday, both the Warren and Watchung Hills school districts announced that schools would be dismissing students early, when snow already was accumulating, and that Board of Education meetings for both districts would be rescheduled. An eighth grade orientation for parents at Watchung Hills has been moved from Tuesday night to Thursday night.

Warren Township schools also were closing on Wednesday, with after-school and evening activities called off for the day.

Warren Township municipal offices at 46 Mountain Blvd., which closed early on Tuesday, are due to reopen at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, the Warren Township website said.
