What Do You Say: Would HIB Policies Have Saved Bullied Boy in Canada?

A Canadian boy killed himself after being beaten and teased because of his disabililities.

The Huffington Post carried a story yesterday about the death of 11-year old Mitchell Wilson, an Ontario boy with muscular dystrophy who killed himself last week after being bullied at school.

The story notes that after a particularly violent attack in November that "the bullying didn't stop." The boy charged in the first reported incident had been removed from the school.

We noted the story's relevance to the discussions earlier this week at the Warren Township Board of Education, and the new Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying policy. Could such a policy in place at Mitchell's school have prevented his death?
