DeFabio Qualifies For Meet of Champions at Group IV Track Meet

Breaks his own new school record in the process.

CJ DeFabio ran 4:16.33 in the 1,600-meter run at the Group IV Track and Field Championship Meet Friday to place sixth and qualify for next Thursday's Meet of Champions.

His time broke the Watchung Hills school record which DeFabio had set last weekend at the North II sectional meet.

Also competing for the Warriors Friday was Amy Park who placed 17th in the shot put and Melissa George who was 10th in the high jump.

The meet continues today at Old Bridge's Lombardi Field at Carl Sandburg Middle School. Among the competitors for the Warriors, DeFabio will be going for a second medal and school record in the 3,200-meter run.
