Watchung Hills put the game away early in the second half, as Heifetz scored in the 16th minute of the second period off a pass from sophomore Rachel Marino, before DePinho capped it 30 seconds later when she beat the keeper to the right corner on a penalty kick.

The Watchung Hills defense, which was playing without injured starting outside back Gabby Pagkalinawan, posted its third straight shutout and sixth of the season.

The Warriors welcomed back junior defender Geanna Donnelly, who missed a game with an ankle injury, and saw the first game action from sophomore Alyssa Bonnesen, who sat out the first 30 days of the season after transferring from Mount St. Mary. The pair, along with sophomore stopper Melissa George, senior outside back Sam Harvitt and senior sweeper Amy Park, combined to limit the Red Devils to just seven shots -- five on goal.

Senior keeper Alicia Maziarz (three saves) and sophomore keeper Meghan Kovac (two saves) combined on the shutout.

The victory was the fifth straight for the Warriors, whose previous setback came Sep. 24, 1-0 to the Red Devils.

THEY SAID IT

“They’re a good team, but we knew from last game we could compete with them. We didn’t want any losses (this season), and we were kind of devastated when we lost that one to Ridge. The Montgomery game (a 4-1 loss Sept. 15), we got outplayed, but that (Ridge) loss was a heartbreaker because we played so hard and it was a close game." – Warriors co-captain Amy Park on the added spice of Tuesday’s convincing victory over the Red Devils

“I thought the first 15 minutes they kind of took it to us. Then everyone kind of got on the same page, had some nice 1-2 balls, played to feet, and finished our opportunities. “ – Warriors head coach Dan Root on his team finding its rhythm after a slow start Tuesday
