Winners from the Sept. 22 Soccer Shoot may be walking in the footsteps of Ruchi Biswas, last year's second place New Jersey State finalist in the U10 division.
The event this year will follow the same format, with four categories for competitors:
- 7 and under: 2005 to present
- 8 and 9: August 1, 2003 to July 31, 2004
- 10 and 11: August 1, 2001 to July 31, 2002
- 12 and 13: August 1, 1999 to July 31, 2000
The competition will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sept. 22 at the Watchung Hills Elks Lodge, rain or shine.

Contestants must have a copy of their birth certificate for registration and competition level.
Ruchi, a student at Mt. Horeb Elementary School, participated in the NJ State Elks Soccer Shoot on Jan. 15, held at Ridgefield Park High School.

She reached this level after coming in first in two rounds of playoffs at the township and district levels.
