Field Hockey Team Focused on Improving [VIDEO]

Thanks to off-season efforts, players look forward to a positive campaign.

Watchung Hills Regional's field hockey team members have been working hard in the off-season, focused on improving their skills ahead of the fall campaign, according to first-year head coach Kristen D'Alessandro.

The team still faces a tough Bridgewater crew, but D'Alessandro believes her players will match up against the competition better than in recent years.

"It's a tough division," she noted.

Senior captains Claudia Emmanuel, Ashley Irving and Erin Schwartzstein will lead the team. D'Alessandro points to the improved play of junior Erin Maloney and goalies Amanda Trumpore (junior) and Rachel Toubin (sophomore) as holding the team's core, with key support coming from senior Bridget Doran and junior Carly Sinnott. 

The season opens Sept. 8, at home against North Hunterdon.
