Watchung Hills Pop Warner Boasts 22 Academic All Americans

Players make the list of high-achieving student athletes.

Each year, the most academically-accomplished student athletes participating in Pop Warner sports hope to be named Academic All-Americans.  

But in a process that begins at the local level and moves up through each of eight Pop Warner regions to the national level, the 400,000-plus kids participating in Pop Warner get winnowed down to just the top students—and this year, Watchung Hills Pop Warner had nine participants receive second team All American status and another 13 participants receive honorable mentions. 

The All American program requires a minimum 96 percent GPA, highlighting the competitive academic requirement.

Watchung Hills participants receiving second team All American status are Timmy Adams, Hailey Crawford, Brendan Cook, Connor Cook,  Anthony Denave, Mario Martino, Alexa Mistichelli, Jessica Mendez, and Jonathan Taub.  

Watchung Hills participants receiving Honorable Mention awards are Kelsey Carlucci, Joey Denave, Charlie Everhard, Andrew Haiken, Spencer Hofmann, Ashley Johnson, Bianca Martino, Kendyl Messorash, Andrew Peritore, Ayla Prinzivalli, Kelly Saum, Tommy Schelling and Justin Uberoi.

All of the scholars were invited to attend the national banquet schedued for to be held in Boston this spring.
