Pop Warner Cheerleaders Tops at Competition

Midget and Jr. Pee Wee squads bring home first place honors.

The Watchung Hills Pop Warner Spirit Squads successfully competed at the Mountain Valley Conference (MVC) Championships at Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School on Saturday.

The competition squads wowed the crowd and will all advance to the Pop Warner Eastern Regional Central Qualifier at Sun Bank Arena in Trenton, Oct. 30th. The girls proudly represented the Watchung Hills Pop Warner (WHPW) program and were rewarded for their commitment and dedication to their teams.

"Each team performed flawlessly and we couldn’t be more proud,” Lori Butrico, WHPW Spirit Commissioner, said.

The Midget squad won first place in the MVC Championship in the Midget Medium Intermediate Division and advanced to the Pop Warner Eastern Region Central Qualifier. The squad includes: Olivia Braunstein, Alexa Butrico, Marissa Butrico, Kiki Goldstein, Alexa Hait, Brianna King, Alexa Mandel, Melissa Marion, Samantha Marion, Jessica Mendez, Katie Napell, Tatiana Salermo, Katie Tiarks and Karly Trimble. WHPW Midget squad is coached by Cindy Braunstein and Kris Trimble.

The Jr. Pee Wee squad also won first place in the Jr. Pee Wee Medium Novice division and advanced to the Pop Warner Eastern Region Central Qualifier. The squad includes: Hailey Crawford, Makenna Decker, Eden Depekary, Gina Fiacco, Isabelle Friedman, Summer Huber, Ashley Johnson, Kendal MacTaggart, Lexie Magidon, Sophie Marsillo, Kendyl Messarosh, Alexa Mistichelli, Justine Piro, Andrea Rica, Arianna Salermo, Kelly Saum, Shannon Twill, and Amanda Weiss. The WHPW Jr. Pee Wee Squad is coached by Angela Salermo, Denise Depekary, Nicole Mistichelli and Bessie Piro.

In addition, the Wolverines Flag and Mitey-Mite squads exhibited their non-competition routines at the MVC Championships.
