Watchung Hills Pop Warner's Midget cheerleading squad placed third out of a field of 16 teams at the National Cheer Championships, Friday.
The team followed the Jr. Pee Wee squad, which competed and took second-place honors Monday.
The Midgets earned their way to the national competition in Orlando, Fla., after garnering top marks at the Oct. 30 state competition. They also took first place in the Oct. 15 Mountain Valley Conference competition.
