Tee Up for Pop Warner's Young Athletes

If you've been needing an excuse to get in an extra round of golf—or just want to have a day helping one of the area's most successful youth sports programs, make your date to join the June 15 annual golf outing fundraiser to benefit the Watchung Hills Pop Warner Football and Cheer program.

The event, the most important fundaiser for the program, will be held at Twin Brooks Country Club in Watchung, and includes a fun-filled night with food, cocktails, DJ and live entertainment after the golfing. Also, participants can bid on several raffle items, including a foursome to Trump National; a Cake Boss gift pack; a trip to Amelia Island Plantation Resort in Florida and Yankees tickets.

Early Registration still open for the 2012 Football and Cheer Season

Watchung Hills Pop Warner is looking forward with great excitement to the start of the 2012 season which will kick off on Aug. 1; flag will begin Aug. 13.

For football, they will be fielding the following teams: Junior Midget, Pee Wee, Junior Pee Wee, Mitey Mite and Flag.  Based on last season’s rosters and projections based on early registration numbers which have been outstanding, the Watchung Hills Pop Warner Program looks to have their healthiest participation levels in years.  There has been an adjustment to the age/weight player safety grid at the Junior Midget level (increase of 10 lbs) which will provide football opportunities to a greater number of boys in our community.

For cheer, they expect to have several teams for the 2012 season and they certainly have a high standard to reach after last year’s success, with .
