Mighty Mites
The Wolverine Mighty Might Team took on the Maplewood-South Orange Packers this past Sunday. Both teams played phenomenal defense and the game came down to field position, turnovers and big plays.

The Wolverine defense limited Maplewood-South Orange to just over 100 yards of total offense, and only allowed 2 first downs the entire game. Up front they were led by NG Jack Valenti—who had three tackles, caused two fumbles and disrupted the Packer offense all afternoon. On consecutive plays in the 3rd quater, Valenti tackled the Packer QB in the backfield and on the 2nd instance forced a fumble that was recovered by Watchung Hills that changed the momentum of the game. Also having strong performances on Defense were LB Mike Butrico, S Josh Ramierez and DT Tyler Piggot.

Offensively, the Wolverine offense dominated time of possession and consistently moved the chains. Lineman Jack and Thomas Dardis, Bryce Rooks, James Coslet and K.C. Boyle paved the way for the Wolverine runners. The backfield spread the ball around to 9 different ball carriers and kept the Packer D off-balance. QB John Annunziata had the lone score of the day on a 9-yard run around right end. WR Jack Reale has an excellent block on the play.
