Dorney, Delaware, and Dave and Buster's on Rec Camps' Itinerary

Do you have a teen that's looking for something to do this summer? Sign them up for the Warren Teen Travel Camp! The camp runs July 1- Aug. 2 9 a.m.-3 p.m. for students going into sixth- to ninth-grade.
Location is East County Reserve Football Field House (across from Middle School on Stirling Road). You can sign up per week, or for all five weeks, or just for the Wednesday trips.

Additional details: This is a semi-organized camp. We allow the teens to choose from arts and crafts, games, sports, water play and just socializing. They can be outside or inside. A teacher is always within sight of the teens. Music is allowed as long as everyone gets to hear it. Teens are welcome to bring their own CDs. We have our own WII, so if you have active games, you may bring them. No violent games please.

Thursday, Aug 1st Family Picnic (rain date Friday) Please drop off & pick up at the Pavilion this day. All campers K-8 are invited with their parents and siblings to the picnic. Each family brings a dish or snacks. A signup sheet will be available. Camp will still begin at 9am. Fun and games will run all day, with lunch at 11:30am. Camp will close at 3pm.

The deadline is 2 wks before each camp begins at 10am or when the program is full. Only 30 teens per week and 40 per trip. Sorry, no refunds.

The Dorney Park trip will run 8-5pm, but the rest of the trips are 9-3pm. Our Director and certified middle school teacher, Franco Caruso, is back. We also have a certified high school teacher and newly graduated, and soon to be certified teacher, who has worked our playground program since she’s been in high school.

TRIP DESCRIPTIONS:

Great Swamp, Basking Ridge, NJ Tues., July 2nd (rain date Wed, July 3rd): Teens will walk the Wildlife Observation boardwalks with a guided tour through the Great Swamp to see turtles, frogs, etc.  They can also visit the gift shop and history hallway.  Next, the teens will eat lunch. They will then visit the Rapture Trust to view the eagles and wild birds. If time allows, they may play games in the open area.  Teens will need to bring a bagged lunch, mosquito spray, sunscreen, hat and wear sneakers.  Check out www.fsw.gov.refuge/great_swamp  Time: 9am-3pm Cost: $40 trip only.         

Dorney Park, Allentown, PA Wed., July 10th (rain date Thurs, July 11th): Teens will go to the Wildwater Kingdom water park in the morning except NO WAVE POOL, break for lunch and then visit the amusement park for the rides.  Teen will need to bring bathing suit, towel, sunscreen, hat, change of clothes and wear sneakers.  Lunch is included.   Check out www.dorneypark.com . Time: 8am-5pm  Cost: $85 trip only. 

Dave and Busters, West Nyack, NY, Wed., July 17th: Teens will walk around mall for the first hour then walk to Dave & Busters and have one hour of video game play.  A buffet lunch will be served with a choice of pizza, sliders, chicken fingers, fries or pasta, and unlimited soda. After lunch they can play in the arcade and on Wednesdays, games are half price.  Bringing spending money is optional.  Lunch is included. Check out www.daveandbusters.com.  Time: 9am-4pm  Cost: $70 trip only.       

Tomahawk Lake, Sparta, NJ Wed, July 24th  (Rain date July 25th): Teens will be sliding down the water slides and swimming in Tomahawk Lake.  They also will have an hour of boating.   Teens need to bring bathing suit, towel, sunscreen, bring lunch OR bring money to purchase lunch and ice cream. Delaware River Tubing, Frenchtown, NJ on Wed, July 31st (rain date Aug 1st): Teens will tube down the Delaware River!  Lifejackets are included and mandatory.  They stop on the river halfway down to eat choice of burgers, hot dogs, etc. Kids need to wear bathing suit and bring sunscreen.  Footwear is mandatory. Wear either old sneakers or water shoes.  Bring a towel which will be left on the bus.  Teens can stop to purchase souvenirs, so bring money if you want to shop.  Tubes can be tied together for those who want it.  Lunch is included. FORMS NEEDED:

Please go to the form page online to print out and sign the Parent Release and Universal Waiver and Delaware River Tubing Waiver, Epinephrine Authorization, Permission to Pick up Child, and Walk to Camp forms.  Please read the Discipline Policy.  Print out the Camp Pizza form, and follow instructions.
