Warren Teams Return to Support Valerie Fund

Last year, , helping support the local non-profit's efforts to provide support and treatment for children with cancer.

This year, the teams are back for more—and you can help by joining a team or by making a donation to one of the groups already registered.

The annual event raises more than $1 million for following their experiences when their daughter Valerie was diagnosed with bone cancer in 1976. The family's difficulty finding treatments appropriate for children, as well as centers designed to make children undergoing treatment and their families comfortable, led them to launch The Valerie Fund which now supports clinics thorughout the area designed for treating childhood cancers while also providing crucial support for the children and their families.  

Local teams registered for this year's Valerie Fund Walk, scheduled for June 15 at Verona Park, include:

• The Golden Girls, with a goal of $5,000. 
• Nate's Warrior's, with a $5,000 goal.
• JAG Physical Therapy, with a goal of $5,000;
• Alexa's Team, with a $1,000 goal.
• Eric Bernstein Associates, with a gola of $1,000.
