Watchung Hills Fall To Basking Ridge

BASKING RIDGE, NJ - Coming off a tough overtime loss to Pingry, the Watchung Hills Warriors fell to Basking Ridge 12-6.

The Warriors jumped out to an early 4-2 lead at halftime, before surrendering 10 second half goals, falling to the Red Devils.

Tyler Furlong scored two goals for the Warriors, as Ryan Cunningham added his 16 and 17 goal of the year. He also added an assist to Angelo Fusco, who scored his first goal in his Varsity career.

“Ryan broke down his defender, causing my man to slide from the crease, opening up my opportunity to put my first one [goal] away,” said Fusco on the goal.

Alec Orazietti, currently leading the team in assists, added two more to put his season total at nine. John Tekin scored his eighth goal of the year.

When asked about the team loss, Captain Matt Rozmerski said, “We just did not execute on the game plan, but we need to stay together as brothers.”

Kevin Quigley led the way for the Red Devils, scoring four goals. Chris Gaydos and J.T. Palladino scored two goals each as well.

The Warriors will play April 16 against Bridgewater-Raritan at home.
