Thanksgiving Closings, Farmers Market Wraps Up Tuesday

Local schools will release students early on Wednesday.

The school districts serving Warren and Watchung Hills High School will wrap up early on Wednesday, in order to give students and their parents a jump on the Thanksgiving holiday, traditionally one of the busiest traveling days of the year.

Warren Township elementary schools and the Warren Middle School have scheduled only a half-day on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Watchung Hills Regional High School is scheduled to let out at 12:05 p.m., according to information on the websites.

Municipal offices also will be closed in Warren Township on Thursday and Friday.

Even so, Tuesday will include one more session of the already-elongated season for the Farmers Market at Wagner Farm Arboretum at 197 Mountain Ave. in Warren.

This week's session will end a little early, running from 3 to 6 p.m. Mini Mac Farm from Long Valley will distribute pre-ordered organic turkeys between 3 to 3:30 p.m., according to the Wagner Farm website.

However, a few of the vendors will be around on the first day that this year's Holiday Boutique at Wagner Farm opens. The boutique is scheduled to run from Dec. 13 to 22.
