Warren Committeewoman Runs Unopposed, Watchung Hills Meeting Time Changed

Watchung Hills Regional High School to conduct 'board retreat' at 7 p.m. Monday.

This Thursday evening at 7 p.m., Warren Township residents can expect to have an opportunity to see Township Committeewoman Carolann Garafola in action.

Garafola, five-time mayor in the township, has served on the Township Committee for 18 years and is seeking another term.

No one is running against the Republican Township Committeewoman, who has been involved in many activities. This week, Patch will profile the local official who's been part of the community for a long haul.

Another key meeting coming up this week is the Watchung Hills Regional High School Board of Education. However, those who wish to attend the meeting should note that it has been moved to a starting time of 6 p.m. on Monday.

The board will begin a "board retreat" at 7 p.m. on Monday, which is the usual time for the regional Board of Education to begin its meetings.

Also coming up this week, the annual Brite Nites Halloween and pumpkin patch display in Warren Township will continue on Sunday through Thursday.

Brite Nites is held at the township-owned Wagner Farm Arboretum — which is continuing its farmers market from 3 to 7 p.m. every Thursday, until switching to a final Tuesday the week of Thanksgiving.
