Warren Schools Goals Update, Library Still Closed This Week

Warren's Holiday Walk set for next Sunday.

Boards of education for both of the school districts attended by Warren Township public students are scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. on Monday.

The local kindergarten through grade eight Warren Township school district is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. at the board office at 213 Mount Horeb Road in Warren.

Among the topics to be discussed are an update of the district's goals, as presented by Schools Superintendent Tami Crader.

The Watchung Hills High School Regional School Board is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. in the media center at the school at 108 Stirling Road.

The school district is preparing to begin renovations and facilities improvements funded by a $12.5-million referendum approved by the regional school district's voters this fall. School Business Administrator Tim Stys said the school district's AAA bond rating was recently reaffirmed prior to the sale of bonds to fund the projects.

The first project on the list is the replacement of old steam pipes in the building, dating back to 1957.

Meanwhile, the Warren Township branch of the Somerset County library system, which has been closed since mid-November for repainting and other improvements, is due to be closed for about another week. The dropoff and pick-up of library materials, as well as some programs, has been arranged at other locations during the library's closure.

The Warren Township Holiday Walk — revived by the recently formed Warren Township Chamber of Commerce after a few years' break — is scheduled to be held from 2 to 4 p.m. next Sunday.

Santa will be featured in a parade to begin in front of Walgreen's at the Pheasant Run Shopping Center off Washington Valley Road.
