Kriegel was active in the local political scene for many years, starting with her leadership in the local Republican Club. Son Charles Kriegel, a physician, said she was active in campaigns when the family lived in Montauk, N.Y., before moving to New Jersey. "She was always involved in politics," he said. "I remember she helped with campaigns for Republican or Conservative candidates." From Higgins Home for Funerals: Frank Anthony Zegar, age 74, died Sunday at Overlook Hospital in Summit. Mr. Zegar was born in Newark, raised in Roselle, spent the summers on his Uncle's farm in Clymer, N.Y., and resided in Warren for the past 43 years. He was a CPA and functioned as the president of Security National Bank until he retired in 1999. Frank served in the US Marine Corps. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Mount Church, was an usher and on the finance committee. He was an active golfer who loved spending time with family and friends. Mr. Zegar is predeceased by his wife Elizabeth Ann Zegar; his daughter Kathleen Zegar; and his son James Zegar. He is survived by his daughters, Debora Hibbs and her husband Karl, Susan …

Roy S. Reichert, 79, of Round Hill, Va., a longtime volunteer with the Warren Forst Aid and Rescue Squad, died Jan. 31, his son, Alan, reported. He was a member, instructor and past president of the squad in the 1960s and '70s, Reichert said. According to Roy Reichert's obituary on Legacy.com, he was was married to Dawn Reichert who preceded him, and was born in New Jersey, the son of Harold and Hazel (Miller) Reichert. He. Mr. Reichert will be laid to rest in Gillespie Evergreen Cemetery, Brevard, N.C.

Peter Rossi, 85, died on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013. Born and raised in Newark, he lived in Belleville for 40 years before moving to Warren 17 years ago. Mr. Rossi served in the Army during World War II. Prior to retiring in 1990, he was a butcher with Uncle John's in Parsippany for 15 years, before that he had worked for DeMarzi Meat Market in Newark for 40 years. Peter was a communicant of Our Lady of the Mount Church and a member of the Warren Senior Citizens and the Advisory Board in Warren. In his spare time he enjoyed watching all sports especially the Yankees and the Giants. Peter especially loved spending time with his family. Evanthia Pappas, age 90, died on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains. She was born in Chephanlonia, Greece, and had lived in North Plainfield before moving to Warren over 30 years ago. Mrs. Pappas was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Piscataway. Mrs. Pappas is predeceased by her husband, Spiro Pappas in 1992. Surviving are her brothers, Angelo Ballas and his wife, Alexandra of Valley Forge, PA and Gerasimos Ballas and his wife, Amalia of Greece and many loving nieces and nephews and extended family and friends here and in Greece.
