Louetta C. (Closter) Potts, age 69, died April 17, 2012, at her home in Warren. Born in Long Island, she grew up in Watchung before moving to Warren 47 years ago. Louetta was a member of Wilson Memorial Union Church in Watchung. She enjoyed the outdoors, being at her shore house with her family and friends and most of all loved spending time with her grandchildren. Louetta was an unassuming person whose kind and caring nature was evident to all. Surviving is her loving husband Ronald who she met at the jersey shore over fifty years ago. Irene M. Sacks, 90, died suddenly on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. Born in Bayonne, she resided in Newark and Denville, and Marshalls Creek, Pa., for 20 years before moving to Warren in 2000. Prior to retiring in 1974, she was employed for 15 years as a bookkeeper for Newark Special Tool. Irene was a member of Our Lady of the Mount R.C. Church and the Altar Rosary Society in Warren, the Warren Senior Citizens and AARP of Bernardsville. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and vegetable gardening. Her husband Vincent predeceased her in 1997. Her brother, Albert Duranik and sister, Emma Egrecky also preceded her. Procession arrived at noon Sunday for burial ceremony at Fairview Cemetery. Nearly 100 fans shouted 'We love you, Whitney' as hearse turned into the cemetery.
The vigil at Fairview Cemetery began at first light Sunday morning. There were no mourners, just reporters and photographers mingling congenially as they staked out a good spot for their reports back to the network morning shows or a position for the perfect photo of the funeral procession bringing Whitney Houston to the cemetery for her burial. Police officers arrived before daylight, at 6 a.m., to secure every possible corner of the Fairview property, from the Cranford border along Union County College to the south and E. Former Hillsborough mayor, county freeholder and state assemblyman died of cancer.
Mourners gathered Monday at United Reformed Church in Somerville to pay their respects to Pete Biondi, the Hillsborough resident known for loving his town. Biondi died Thursday after a bout with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, just two days after winning his re-election bid to the state assembly's 16th district. He was 69, having been born in Newark June 23, 1942. He was raised in Union and lived in Hillsborough for 35 years, according to the funeral program. He is survived by his wife, Joan, his son and daughter, Peter and Jennifer and two grandchildren. His passion for politics and for Hillsborough led him to run for the Township Committee in 1983, and serve as mayor from 1986 to 1993. He is remembered for helping to construct the Hillsborough …

Pamela Schmidt, 22, remembered as energetic and loving member of family.
Services for Pamela Schmidt will be held at Higgins Funeral Home in Watchung Saturday at 11 a.m., according to the funeral home's website. Schmidt's body was found Sunday afternoon in the Cranford home of her boyfriend William Parisio. Police and members of the Union County Prosecutor's office said Schmidt was dead at the scene, the victim of trauma, and have charged Parisio with murder. The obituary noted Schmidt was born and raised in Somerset, and was a senior at Rutgers University, planning to graduate in the spring with degrees in Labor Relations, Psychology and Human Resources. She had plans to continue her education at Rutgers' graduate school of human resources. Schmidt, a Watchung Hills grad who was living with her family in …
