The 25-member Warren Township Police Department, under the direction of Chief Russell Leffert, includes fourMore divisions: traffic, communications, detectives and patrol. The department was established in 1973.

The department runs the Drug Awareness Resistance Education (DARE) program in Warren schools, and the Warren Police Explorers Post, providing high school students interested in police work an opportunity to learn about the department by helping support police at community and volunteer events, crime prevention programs and other community projects.
