Jewelry Taken From Home Leads to Burglary Arrest

25-year-old out on bail on previous burglary charges accused of breaking into Mundy Lane residence.

A 25-year-old man out on bail on burglary charges was arrested Thursday for breaking into a Warren Township residence earlier this week, the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office said. Timothy Whitmore, who claimed to be homeless, was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree theft and possession of burglary tools, a disorderly persons offense. Jewelry, electronics and cash were stolen from a Mundy Lane residence on Monday, according to a statement released Friday by Prosecutor Geoffrey Soriano and Warren Township Police Chief Russell Leffert. Reward Offered in Second Break-in at Golf Clubhouse

Repeat theft of golf trophies at Somerset Hills Country Club, week after break-in at USGA Golf Museum.

For the second time this month, the Somerset Hills Country Club clubhouse in Bernardsville was broken into with several golf trophies stolen early Tuesday morning, authorities said. At the same time, Bernards Township say an investigation continues into a theft of golf trophies that took place last Wednesday from the collection at the United States Golf Association Museum. Somerset County Prosecutor Geoffrey Soriano on Tuesday afternoon that at approximately 3:30 a.m., Bernardsville patrol officers responded to an alarm activation at the country club's clubhouse on Mine Mount Road.
