CASA SHaW Receives Grant From Bridgewater Foundation

The grant is for $5,000.

Court Appointed Special Advocates of Somerset, Hunterdon and Warren Counties (CASA SHaW) was recently awarded a grant from a Bridgewater-based organization in support of its mission. The grant is from the Tyler Foundation of Bridgewater, and is for $5,000. “We are so grateful to the Tyler Foundation for its support,” said Tracey Heisler, executive director of CASA SHaW, in a release about the grant. “With the federal funding cuts we are currently experiencing, this grant could not have come at a more opportune time. This grant will help to ease some of these funding losses and allow us to continue our child advocacy mission.” The organization is part of a network of community-based non-profit programs throughout the state that recruit and …

Comedy Show to Raise Money for Child Advocates

The performance will raise money for CASA ShaW.

The third annual Comedy Night to benefit the Court Appointed Special Advocates of Somerset, Hunterdon and Warren Counties (CASA SHaW) will be held Jan. 25 to benefit the organization. The program will be held Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. at the Somerville Elks Lodge on Union Avenue in Bridgewater. CASA SHaW is a non-profit organization with the goal of recruiting, training, screening and supervising community volunteers who can act as court advocates for children who have been abused and neglected, and are living in foster care. These volunteers—including Warren residents Carin Blatteis, Joe Westlein, Denise Powers and Jennifer Holmes —are appointed by a family court judge to aid in determining the best outcome for the child’s future.
