Hundreds Mourn as Pamela Schmidt Laid to Rest
Family members share special memories of Watchung Hills grad.
With several hundred gathered Saturday at Higgins Home for Funerals, in Watchung, the many family members, friends and co-workers of Warren resident Pamela Schmidt, 22, said their farewells. Schmidt's body was found last Sunday in the Cranford home of her longtime boyfriend, William Parisio, who has been charged with her murder. Parisio entered a plea of not guilty at his arraignment Friday, and is being held in Union County Jail with bail set at $400,000. The gathering Saturday included Schmidt's extended family, many she had helped to reunite, college professors and high school friends, all of whom nodded in agreement as her sister, Stephanie, cousins, and an uncle recalled her energy and wit.
