Send Us Your Tree Or Menorah Photos

Do you have a photo of a tree or menorah that held a special place of honor in your home? Do you have a favorite decoration that is a tradition?

It's Christmas evening, and most people are sitting around relaxing after what may have been a full day of celebrations, or at least time given to relaxing and reflection. Did you have a special Christmas tree or a menorah this holiday season that brightened your home? Did they light up the faces of your children? Did you take any photos that show off your beautiful tree or the menorah as you lit it during Hanukkah? What are your favorite decorating tricks? Each year I cover our tree with candy canes — a very popular and picturesque addition to a small evergreen. One advantage: the candy canes don't have to be stored off season. White Christmas May Be Seen in the Region

A weak storm front expected to bring up to two inches of snow starting Monday night.

Cross your fingers. As of Sunday, weather projections indicate a storm front entering the region that could give us—gasp—a white Christmas. According to the National Weather Service, there is a 20 percent chance of snow on Tuesday, with a temperature ultimately reaching 38 degrees. Stephen Pellettiere, with Ion Weather based at the Morristown Municipal Airport, said current projections appear to have the small storm begin producing at about 9 p.m. on Christmas Eve, tapering off at the latest 6 a.m. Tuesday morning. "A little storm is passing to our south," he said. "There's a tenth of an inch of moisture, which translates to about an inch of snow." Despite Sandy, NJ Travel to Remain Steady

AAA New Jersey predicts about 1 million residents of the Garden State will travel 50 miles or more this holiday weekend.

About one million New Jersey residents and 43.3 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more this Thanksgiving weekend, AAA New Jersey predicts. The impact of Hurricane Sandy is still uncertain, especially in the mid-Atlantic and northeast regions. Cathleen Lewis, the director of Public Affairs for AAA New Jersey, said, "While many residents [of New Jersey] may cancel travel plans, many others may change travel plans to accommodate or assist displaced friends and family." How will we get there? Sandy may influence how New Jerseyans will travel this holiday. As Lewis said, "Rental cars have become a coveted commodity by those who lost vehicles in the storm.” AAA recommends confirming any existing reservations for a rental car with the …
