Warren Musicians Take Top Awards at JAM

Joe Cerisano and Michael Arrom named state's best in their categories.

Warren residents Joe Cerisano and Michael Arrom were named among Jersey's best musicians at the Jersey Acoustic Music Awards, Sunday at the Jersey Shore Arts Center, in Ocean Grove. Michael, a student at The Pingry School, was named Top 18-under Instrumentalist. He performed at the awards events with his duo partner, Shannon Corsi. Michael has participated in the Grammy Camp music program for several years, gaining professional performance experience, and was part of a band backing up singer Keith Urban at the 2012 American Country Awards broadcast.  Cerisano was named the Top Male Songwriter. Local audiences have heard Cersano perform his original tunes, as well as popular covers at local events, including the township's Under the Stars …

Warren teen Michael Arrom performed last week on the broadcast of the American Country Awards, taking the stage with a group of other teen standouts and country music star Keith Urban.  If you missed the show, check out the video where Michael takes a solo about two inutes and 49 seconds into the performance of "Crossroads."

Warren Teen to Join Keith Urban on Awards Show

Michael Arrom will accompany Urban on Monday's 'American Country Awards' broadcast.

When country music superstar Keith Urban rocks the stage at next week’s Fox-TV Network telecast of the “American Country Awards,” one of New Jersey’s most gifted young musicians will rock with him. Eighteen-year-old Michael Arrom, of Warren, has been chosen by the recording industry’s prestigious GRAMMY Foundation to be part of a highly-talented student band it assembled to perform with Urban.  He and six other accomplished student musicians from throughout the nation were selected for the honor.  Michael is the sole New Jerseyan. Michael Arrom Tapped for Third Grammy Camp

One of just 136 students from across country selected to attend.

Update: For a third straight year, Warren resident Michael Arrom will be attending the Grammy Camp for high school students. The camp includes sessions with top studio and recording artists in Los Angeles and Nashville—only 136 students will attend this year's camp.
