The Warren Township Office of Emergency Management would like to recognize and thank Mayor Carolann Garafola, the Warren Township Committee, the Township employees, the First Responder agencies, their employees and volunteers who reacted courageously and tirelessly to the response and the recovery of Superstorm Sandy, the most powerful storm to strike Warren Township in recent memory. As a result of the impact of the storm, the majority of Warren Township residents experienced lengthy power outages with some residents losing electricity for two weeks. Warren Township encouraging special needs residents to join state database for emergency responders.

Warren Township is partnering with the state's Register Ready program to compile a database of all residents with special needs accessible to police and first responders in the event of an emergency, Mayor Carolann Garafola and members of the Warren Township Committee announced. The service is offered to state residents at no charge. The Register Ready database is operated by the State of New Jersey State and allows residents with special needs to sign up for the free, voluntary and confidential program identifying those who may need assistance during a disaster.
