Credit Card Theft Nets $164

Warren Township police also investigate alleged residential break-in.

A Downingtown Court resident reported discovering a number of small, frudulent charges made to a credit card account. Police said the report, made at 9:21 a.m. Wednesday, detailed charges totaling $164.25. Police also investigated a reported burglary to an Isabella Way residence, occurring sometime during the last month.  At 10:31 p.m. Wednesday, the resident reported discovering damage to a garage door, enabling entry into the house. Nothing was reported missing, however.

Two Warren Houses Burglarized Over the Weekend

$8,000 in cash and jewelry taken from one home.

Daytime burglaries hit Warren again, this time houses on the township's western side were broken into, according to township police. A Stratford Court resident called police at 5:11 p.m. to report a break-in occuring sometime during the day while the resident was out. The resident is still checking the property to identify any stolen items. Police also received a report at 10:36 p.m. of a break-in during the day, this time from a resident of Briarwood Drive East. The resident said theives took $8,000 in cash and assorted jewelry from the house.

Montville Police Say Somerset Man was Stealing Used Cooking Oil

Case sounds similar to incident in Warren.

Montville police charged Akim Brock with theft May 9, after he was caught tking used cooking oil from a local restaurant. Montville police said they believe Brock, a resident of Somerset County, was trying to sell the oil—he allegedly had more used cooking oil stored in a box truck he had with him that had a pump attached. Some of which may have been from a Warren business—which was reported stolen May 2. If the cases are connected, it could answer a lot of questions—except for one: who is buying the used oil?

Basking Ridge Man Facing DWI Charge

Solving crimes often isn't an easy matter, even with today's high-tech crime fighting tools. Detectives are often left searching for an answer to the most fundamental question of a crime: what was the motive?
