A 34-year-old Watchung man was found shot to death inside a parked minivan in Irvington late Tuesday night, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. Lamont F. Downing was found slumped down in the front seat of the vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds on the 100 block of Melrose Avenue Tuesday at about 10 p.m., Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray said in a statement. Downing was pronounced dead at the scene at about 10:30 p.m., Murray said. The Irvington Police Department and Essex County Prosecutor's Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force are investigating the homicide, Murray said. A Watchung man has been charged with three counts of invasion of privacy after he allegedly videotaped people in the bathroom of an amusement park, according to Warren County Prosecutor Richard Burke. Patrick Deck, 52, was also charged with possessing a .22-caliber rifle in violation of terms of previous sentencing issued by courts. UPDATE: Deck was charged Friday with sexually assaulting child, endangering the welfare of a child and possession of child pornography.
