Brian Faig Helps Lead Warriors Over Elizabeth

Team advances in states.

Watchung Hills tennis team won their first round state tournament match today over 8-4 Elizabeth, led by senior Brian Faig, who defeated Union County Singles Champion Jorge Rodriguez Del Rey 6-4, 6-1. Weinerman, Gavornik Win in Three Sets to Put Warriors Over Hunterdon Central

Submitted by Christopher Gibson Second singles Tim Gavornik and third singles Max Weinerman won in three sets to lead the Warriors (11-5) to a thrilling 3-2 victory over conference rival Hunterdon Central.   First doubles Nate Luke and Derek Ong won 7-5, 6-2.  The Warriors face county rival Bridgewater-Raritan tomorrow at Watchung Hills. Weinerman, Luke Force Third Set to Seal Win for Warriors

Warriors record extends to 8-3.

Submitted by Christopher Gibson The Warriors varsity tennis team defeated no. 15 ranked Ridge High School 3-2 at Pleasant Valley Park. Freshman Tim Gavornik won at third singles 6-3,6-3 while sophomore Tristan Sun won 7-5, 6-4 at 2nd singles.   This set-up an epic battle for the match at first doubles. Seniors Max Weinerman and Nate Luke overcame match point to go to a third set. Down 1-4 in the third set, Max and Nate fought back to win 6-4 and seal the upset for the Warriors.   The surging 8-3 Warriors face no. 16 Montgomery on Monday. Boys Tennis Team Falls to Franklin

Singles struggle in loss to no. 13 Franklin.

Franklin, one of the area's top ranked teams, used its strength in the singles matches to win. Watchung Hills is 6-3 on the season. The team travels to Somerville for a 4 p.m. match. Gavornik Helps Warriors Edge New Providence

Tennis team notches fourth win in season.

The Watchung Hills Tennis team is off to a 4-1 start, after topping New Providence 3-2 at Watchung Hills Regional, Thursday. The team's success is due to the consistent play of third singles freshman Tim Gavornik (4-1), second singles Tristan Sun (3-2), and senior first doubles Max Weinerman and Nate Luke (3-2).   First singles senior Brian Faig and the second doubles combinations of Michael Ma, Derek Ong, Max Kabat, and Abhi Dantuluri have also contributed wins for the Warriors.   The Warriors face off with conference rival Pingry in Martinsville this Tuesday.
