Old Stirling Road To Get Repaving in 2012

$78.75 million is being distributed statewide by the Christie Administration for towns' road repairs.

A nearly mile-long section of Old Stirling Road will be improved next year, one of 17 Somerset County projects receiving almost $3 million in grant funding from the state, according to a release sent out by the New Jersey Department of Transportation Tuesday. The grants, totalling $2,912,779, are under the FY 11 state Municipal Aid Program. Warren Township will receive $175,000, about 38 percent of the project's estimated $460,000 total cost. Township Administrator Mark Krane said the township will bond for the rest of the project's cost. The work will cover 0.98 miles from Forest Drive, south of the middle school, north to the bridge over Route 78.
