Eileen Oldfield, Neighbor

Eileen is a lifelong New Jersey resident who grew up in Hillsborough and hasn't yet left.  She is a 2005 graduate of Rider University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English writing, and a minor in music.

Eileen has been a reporter at Packet Publications Inc., and has covered education and schools in Hillsborough Township and Manville Borough since 2007.  She recently began covering municipal news for the two towns as well.

When she's not running around after a story, Eileen can be found at various punk and ska shows, or training and fundraising for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training.  Favorite bands include the Dropkick Murphys (she's seen them 14 times, found herself on the Live on Landsdowne DVD, and the best compliment she ever received was from the band's bassist.), Flogging Molly, Rancid, the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and Social Distortion.  She attempted her first triathlon with Team in Training June 5, though lightening cancelled the swim and shortened the bike.   She's currently contemplating her next Team in Training event, even though she is not much of an athlete.
